Wow, this Annual Event is NOT to be missed! JULY 4, 2009 The MOST unique fundraiser. You bet on a number on a chart. The chart is placed on the ground and if the cow makes a dropping on your number, YOU WIN!!!!
I was raised with 'if a pigeon makes a dropping on your head it is good luck!' (actually happened to me in 1991 in Queens, NY) Here, right in Leona Valley, if a cow poops on your number you win Money!
(April 18, 2009 ) was the 20th Annual Arbor/Earth Day in the Santa Clarita Valley. Spring has Sprung! And this year Santa Clarita expanded the vendors to bring the world of 'greening-up' accessible and cost effective for homes and businesses.
We visited with many booths including Student for Sustainability at the College of the Canyons, made crafts, planted trees, and caught up with Alec from SunTek and the Local GreenResource folks were out in full force. We saw the presentation of awarding Santa Clarita - City of Trees!!!!
Set your calendars for next year as this is the premier event to "Spring" you into action for your home and business. See the VIDEO: www.youtube.com/watch?v=udJexlPQwjY
Buyers in Santa Clarita Valley and beyond, this is exciting news for you!
HUD Secretary, Shaun Donovan announced that FHA Lenders are going to be allowed to let First Time Homebuyers use the up to $8000.00 tax credit as a down-payment.
To quote Mr. Donovan, speaking at the Mid-year conference of NAR in Washington: Secretary Donovan said that important changes, which the National Association of Realtors® has been calling for, will help consumers purchase a home. “We all want to enable FHA consumers to access the home buyer tax credit funds when they close on their home loans so that the cash can be used as a downpayment,” Donovan said. According to Donovan, the FHA’s approved lenders will be permitted to “monetize” the tax credit through short-term bridge loans. This will allow eligible home buyers to access the funds immediately at the closing table.
The rate on the bridge loans were not mentioned, but it is another resouce and consideration for home buyers! The National Association of Realtors continues to work dilligently on efforts for home-buyers.

The Go Green Expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center was fantastic. A good group of people, products, services, programs and incentives showcased to innovate and educate. Sustainability is achievable for the future marketability of our homes and to lessen our dependence on foreign sources for energy.
I look forward to sharing the information, products and services available in our own area when I see you around town. Promoting good stewardship and responsible attention to how we use items and re-use items is exciting for renters and property owners, business owners and those in public office. It is possible to acheive this with community cohesion toward this valuable cause.
Mariel Hemingway shared some interesting insights into the meaning of 'Green'...in the home evaluating the fit and finding the home that reflects who we are and who are yet to be.
